Everyday Is Earth Day Aboard The Buccaneer

For those of us who make our living out on the water, every day is Earth Day, and aboard the Buccaneer, we take environmental stewardship very seriously. As part of our family friendly environment, we aim to teach families about keeping the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay clean from litter and debris, and about the importance of respecting the wildlife and marine animals around us. The Blessing of The Fleet: A Destin Tradition

Every year, shortly after Easter, the Destin  Charter Fishing Fleet, private boats, and cruise ships like the Buccaneer and the Southern Star gather together to celebrate the rich tradition and history of the Destin fishing. For 56 years, on Ascension Thursday, pastors from Destin’s churches gather behind Fisherman’s  Wharf for the Annual Blessing of Fleet. A tradition that began more than 50 years ago, the Blessing of Fleet celebrates those who make their living from the sea and prays for safe passage and bountiful catches. […]

How to Create a Pirate Name
